As with every edition, the Free Earth Festival crew is working around the clock to present a magical coastal venue to host our unique gathering. We are the leading force in EU Psy-festivals for seaside blasting, and the 2023 edition will be no different! Expect a lush green area, a long beach, and crystal-clear waters. In a phrase, the beauty of Greece!
As always, the festival will be hosted in North Greece. The landing airport remains the Thessaloniki Airport (SKG)
Free Earth Festival started in 2013 in Ancient Olympia in the Peloponnese as a family gathering. Since then, we have changed three venues in the five subsequent editions. This was a natural consequence of the evolution and development of the Festival. For the last two editions in 2018 and 2019, we were in Azapiko Halkidiki.
All this was overturned when in 2022, another so-called “festival” used the venue we highlighted, to organize an event with absolute failure, which went down in history as the dirtiest organization of all time. The lack of professionalism combined with the organization’s inability to manage waste resulted in the venue being filled with mountains of garbage, creating a huge problem for the local community and a health bomb ready to explode.
This is the result when people without the professionalism and ecological consciousness appear as festival organizers.
We are the only organization that has been organizing international festivals in Greece for over 20 years; among them is the legendary Samothraki Dance Festival. We have put a lot of effort to place Greece on the map of International Psytrance Festivals. It is really irritating when ignorant wannabe festival organizers show up and spoil what we have worked so hard to create.
For this reason and out of respect for the local community, which still collects garbage from Azapiko, we decided to change location.
The new venue of the festival will be the Asprovalta Camping, located just 78 kilometers from Thessaloniki. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful campsites in Greece.
The Asprovalta Camping is the largest campsite in the Balkans, with an area exceeding 250 acres. This is a green space by the sea with all the infrastructure and amenities a camper needs.
We believe that the specific venue has all the prerequisites, for the attendees to enjoy their staying, including shade for all campers and newly built toilets and showers.
