Green Guide

As we continue our journey towards a sustainable future for festivals, we must ask ourselves what actions we can take as attendees to diminish our footprint on festival locations and the surrounding natural environment.

  1. Opt for Shared or Public Transportation. Transportation contributes to 80% of a festival’s carbon footprint. Utilize the festival’s shuttle services or public transportation options. Join our carpooling effort by visiting our dedicated Facebook Group to help reduce the festival’s environmental impact effortlessly.
  2. Embrace Digital Solutions. Leverage electronic ticketing for your festival passes. Use digital means, such as your smartphone, to capture and store event schedules instead of relying on printed materials. This edition will also see a reduction in our print materials. Should you use paper, please recycle it in the designated bins available.
  3. Reject Single-Use Straws. Consider using a durable, reusable metal straw if a straw is necessary for your beverage.
  4. Support Reusable Hydration Solutions. Bring a hydration backpack or utilize our reusable cups to cut down on plastic waste effectively.
  5. Refuse Single-Use Plastics. Carry a reusable tote for purchases. Encourage food vendors to place your meals in your own containers. Choose reusable bamboo utensils and opt for refillable or bar options for personal care products, ensuring they are eco-friendly, especially for use in communal bathing areas.
  6. Address Microplastic Pollution. Opt for environmentally friendly glitter alternatives, and ensure all glitter is removed before showering to prevent it from entering our waterways.
  7. Promote Sustainable Fashion. Given the significant pollution caused by the fashion sector, explore second-hand purchases or support brands committed to ecological responsibility.
  8. Advocate for Solar Energy. Illuminate your camping area with rechargeable solar lights and keep your electronic devices powered with portable solar chargers.
  9. Proper Waste Management. Sort your refuse and recyclables accurately. Smokers should always use portable ashtrays to avoid littering. Refrain from utilizing the beach and festival grounds for personal hygiene; we provide high-quality showers and toilets for your convenience.
  10. Leave No Trace. Ensure you take all belongings, including tents, when departing. Donate any unwanted camping gear to our charity partner, aiding refugees within Greece. For those interested in further contributing, opportunities to assist in post-festival clean-up efforts are available through our production team.

Let’s all commit to these practices to ensure our festival not only entertains but also respects and preserves the environment.
